

David Joseph Parker Jr. died, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at his home at the age of 89.Born in New Haven, CT, Mr. Parker has been a long time resident of Lower Bucks County.He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, in West Haven, CT and the University of Bridgeport.He was a teacher for 30 years with Pennsbury School District and was the Stage Crew Director at Pennsbury High School. After retiring from teaching, Mr. Parker worked for Falls Township in the Building Code Enforcement Office.
A very calm and mild mannered person, Mr. Parker was a good listener and very thoughtful. He had his own sense of humor. He was a wonderful husband and father and an extremely hard worker.He enjoyed playing both the clarinet and saxophone. He was a skilled carpenter and builder and put a beautiful addition onto the family home. He was also a Boxer and played football.When his children were young, he was very involved in their sports and Boy Scouts. He loved to watch his kids and grandkids play soccer and ice hockey.Mr. Parker and his wife enjoyed walks together and traveling, especially to Italy and Germany. He loved spending time at the New Jersey Shore and spent countless weekends in the Poconos.If there was time to spare and relax, Mr. Parker would spend much of his free time reading books. He loved reading Historical Biographies and Historical Fiction Novels. His children referred to him as a living historical encyclopedia.While on a cruise to Havana, Mr. Parker met his future bride, Lorretta Anna Reichwein.Beloved husband of 58 years to Anna (Reichwein), Mr. Parker is the loving father of David Parker, Suzanne Lamoreaux (Timothy Garvey), Patricia Schlegel (Christopher), Paul Parker (Deanna) and Diane Villasenor (Jeffrey).He is the devoted grandfather of Kyle (Brittney) and Tawni Lamoreaux (Peter Piarre), Matthew, Andrew, Mark Schlegel, Natalie and Sean Parker, Carlos Villasenor and the late Daniel Schlegel; and proud great grandfather of Skyler, Willow, Elizabeth and Harper.Family and friends are invited to call from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 29th at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
