Born on December 26, 1961, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Deborah was the daughter of Beverly Newkirk and the late Walter Levitan, and the stepdaughter of Robert Newkirk III. She was raised in the Twin Oaks neighborhood of Levittown and was a graduate of Maple Point High School, where she formed a circle of cherished, lifelong friends who remained by her side throughout her life.
At her core, Deborah had a warm, loving heart and cared deeply for the people and pets in her life. Though she struggled to find her place in the world, her love for her family and close friends, including Steve Landolfi, ran deep. She found endless happiness spending summer days at the Jersey Shore, soaking in the warmth of the sun, and she doted unconditionally on her beloved cat, Tigger, and her dog, Vito. Although she never married or had children of her own, she shared a wonderful relationship with Luca, the grandson of one of her dearest friends, that brought real warmth and purpose to her life. She regularly visited with Luca and showered him with love.
In addition to her mother, Beverly Newkirk, and her stepfather, Robert Newkirk III, Deborah is survived by her brothers, David Levitan (Angela Levitan) and Robert Newkirk IV (Diana Newkirk), her nieces, Lauren Levitan (George Williams), who was much more like a sister to her, and Kayla Williams, her nephews Nicholas Newkirk and Daniel Levitan, as well as her extended family and the close friends who stood by her through the years.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home located at 2200 Trenton Road in Levittown, PA. Family and friends are invited to call from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, with a memorial service immediately following at 5:30 PM, where attendees will be invited to speak and share memories. A dinner will follow the service at a location to be announced.
