Born in McKeesport, PA, he was a longtime area resident, after being stationed at Willow Grove Naval Air Station in the early 1960s. He was a proud, honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Del made a living as a Customer Relations Manager of Philadelphia Gas Works, where he met his future wife Joyce. They wed in 1979.
In his spare time, Del was an avid golfer, and would go to the modified stock car races. He was a huge sports fan, particularly of Philadelphia teams. He never met a diner or a deal he didn't like.
Predeceased by his parents, David and Myra Taylor; Del is survived by his wife Joyce; his children, Del (Helen) Taylor, Marc (Gillian) Taylor, and Danielle (James) Taylor; his grandchildren, Jason and Ryan (Jessica) Taylor; two great grandchildren; his siblings, David (Cynthia) Taylor, Jay (Donna) Taylor, and Denise Leezer; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12 noon, at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania, 19056.
All other services for Del will be kept private.
