In her early years, Doris worked at the Hershey Chocolate Factory and later at Nationwide Insurance Company. Eventually, she devoted herself to being a homemaker, a role in which she found great purpose and fulfillment.
Doris graduated from Juniata Joint High School. Her life was marked by dedication—to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. A long-standing member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Doris found spiritual strength and community through her faith.
She had a deep love for gardening and spent many hours tending to her plants with care. She also enjoyed bird watching and could often be found with a cup of coffee in hand, savoring sweets while observing nature’s beauty.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Sirmarco (John Stackhouse); siblings Tom Leach, Raymond (Sandy) Leach, and Gloria Harris; as well as many others who knew and loved her.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Frank Anthony Arena; her son Keith Leach; son-in-law Ian Sirmarco; parents Oren and Charlotte Leach; and siblings Bob and Pauline Popp, Lester and Betty Leach, Virginia Cohn, and Clyde and Betty Leach.
Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Dougherty Funeral Home 2200 Trenton Rd. Interment to follow at Bristol cemetery.
