

Doris A. Jordan Bristol Resident Doris A. Jordan (Sherman), of Bristol, PA, died on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Statesman Nursing Home in Levittown. She was 87. Born and raised in the Frankford section of Philadelphia, Mrs. Jordan was a Bristol Township resident for the past 14 years, and a Bucks County resident for 53 years. She worked from her home as a dressmaker for many years and was an instructor with Singer Sewing Machine Co. Mrs. Jordan was active with Boy Scout Troop 19 in Langhorne with her great grandchildren, and with the Tawanka School reading program "Title 1" in the Neshaminy School District. Wife of the late William R. Jordan, who was killed during WWII; and beloved wife of the late Robert H. Jordan, Jr., Mrs. Jordan was the mother of the late Doris Lindemuth. She is survived by her loving children, Sadie "Sally" Reed and her husband Thomas of Fallsington, and Joyce Jordan of Furlong. She will also be sadly missed by seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one step great grandchild, her dear sister in law, "Sis" Emily Sherman, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA, where there will be a Funeral Service on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, PA. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Boy Scout Troop 19, Langhorne Presbyterian Church, 125 E. Gillam Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047.
