Doris S. Tait

Doris S. Tait (Southrey), age 96, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Tait of 58 years, who passed away on July 16, 2005. Devoted mother of Terri Tait, and sons, Thomas F. (Teresa) Tait Jr. and Brian (Robyn) Tait. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. An extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be missed by all.

A longtime employee of Strawbridge and Clothier, Doris provided an enjoyable shopping experience for many over the years. She enjoyed a lifetime love of reading, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and furry family members.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056 on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 10:30 until 11:30 am. Graveside service and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to the Women's Animal Center, PO Box 1470, Bensalem, PA 19020, one of her favorite organizations.
