Born on April 21, 1941 in Kingston, Pennsylvania. She was a coal miner's daughter to the late Willard Cooper and Mae Herbert Cooper. She was the 3rd child of 4. Sister to Ruthann Roberts, the Late Willard (Skip) Cooper, and Kenneth Cooper.
As a teen the family moved to Levittown, PA. She graduated from Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, PA and was an active member of Grace Gospel Church. A group of young people from the church attended Prairie Bible Institute in Alberta Canada, and it was on those 3000 mile road trips that Dottie really got to know the love of her life. She and Ed Mason married in October of 1961 and just celebrated their 63rd Anniversary.
Dottie loved her family! But more than that she Loved JESUS. She lived Colossians 3:17, "Whatever you do in word or deed, do all to the glory of God." Her goal was to instill God's love into everyone she encountered, whether it was fostering infants until they got adopted, faithfully praying for and teaching her children about God. If there was a visitor at church, you could be sure we were having them over for dinner. If someone needed a ride to church, the Mason van was there.
Dottie also had a passion for sewing and crafting. She loved to make clothes and blankets for her family and friends. She also mentored and taught friends. Dottie cherished sewing on Fridays with her friend Lynette.
Dottie’s favorite Bible character who she strived to be like was the disciple Dorcas-One who clothed and fed those in need.
Dottie loved music and singing. She sang in the choir. Dottie and Ed frequently sang duets at church. She loved to rock and sing her grandbabies to sleep; especially her favorite song "Amazing Grace".
Dottie also worked outside the home part time doing various jobs. - private nursing care for Alzheimer’s patient, clerical temp jobs, cashier at the A&P, customer service at Educational Testing Service (ETS).
The favorite family tradition is our 2 week vacation to Bennett Lake in Canada where Dottie would take a huge stack of books (and read them all) and would take her sewing machine and work on projects. Best of all just spending time with family!
Dottie’s light shined bright. She fought the good fight. Well done thy good and faithful servant.
She will be greatly missed, but rejoicing she is with Jesus!! Reuniting with and awaiting for all those who love HIM too.
Dottie is survived by her loving husband Edmund. Dottie was a loving and amazing mother to Faith Anconetani, Hope Compton(Bruce), Skip Mason(Monica), and Ed Mason (Beth). She was the best Grandmom to Laura Schilling (Chris), Ryan Compton, Matthew Compton (Kaylyn), Steven Compton
Mom-mom to Miranda, Makayla, and Tommy Anconetani; Nana to Emily and Olivia Mason
Great Grandmother (Benny Grandmom) to Colton, Brycen, and Austin Schilling, Sawyer, Jack, and Penny Compton; Mom to her fur baby dog Bennett (Benny); and Aunt Dottie to many nieces and nephews.
