Dorothy C. McGlade died on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Wood River Village in Bensalem, surrounded by her loving family.. She was 91.Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. McGlade was an original homeowner in the Mill Creek Falls section of Levittown and a founding member of the former Immaculate Conception Parish. For the past two years, she was residing at Wood River Village She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine (Moore) and John H. Jackson; her husband, Edward; her infant son, Michael; and her brothers, Albert and Walter Jackson.Dorothy is the loving and devoted mother of Sharon Shaw and her husband, James, Dorothy McGinley, and Patricia Caracappa and her husband, Joseph..She is the devoted grandmother of Brandon Shaw (Tracy), Andrea Loch (Kevin), Kim Kletcheck (Daniel), Julie McGeady (Shane), Patrick McGinley (Paula), Holly, Michael and Hope Caracappa; and the proud great grandmother of 11Dorothy is the sister of Evelyn Krehely.Dorothy was grateful to God for the many Blessings in her life. She cherished for faith her family and her friends. She truly enjoyed her life.Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, from 8:30 until 10:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am at Queen of the Universe.
