Douglas A. Hecht of Levittown died on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at his home. He was 71. Born and raised in New York City, Doug moved to Lower Makefield in 1990 and has resided in Levittown for the past 8 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Doug worked for Merrill Lynch in New York City for 30 years until retiring in 1998. He was an avid member of the NRA and an advocate for gun safety. In his younger days, Doug was an outdoorsman. Doug was the loving father of Amanda Hinkle (Michael) and Pamela Mullins. He is also survived by his brother Peter Hecht (Jan) of Mahopac, NY; his wife and friend of 30 years Elsa Hecht; 2 nephews Derek and Michael Hecht and other extended family members.
