

Edward H. Apgar Edward H. Apgar died suddenly at his home in Levittown, on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. He was 62. Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, the son of Pauline (Fehr) Apgar and the late Edward M. Apgar, he was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School Class of 1967 and Trenton State College (College of New Jersey), Ewing, NJ where he received a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice. Until his retirement in 1999, he served as a Police Officer for Falls Township for 25 years. He was a substitute teacher for Bucks County Alternative School for 3 years. Ed served proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant in the Military Police. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, PAFT and FOP Bucks County Lodge #53. Ed was an avid fisherman, a loyal Clint Eastwood and Dallas Cowboy fan and most of all, a die-hard NY Yankees fan. He loved vacations in Belmar, NJ. Ed will be remembered as a wonderful son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Beloved husband of 36 years to Peggy, he was the loving father of Michele and her husband, Joe Foose and Jaclyn Apgar; grandfather of 3 and brother of Sharon Brousseau (Jean). He will also be sadly missed by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hope Lutheran Church, 2600 Haines Road, Levittown, PA 19055.
