

Edward Francis Flood, DDS Edward Francis Flood, DDS died on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Saint Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 89. Born in New Hope, Dr. Flood was a resident of Levittown for 55 years. He was an active and involved member of Queen of the Universe Parish since it was founded in 1957. Dr. Flood attended Villanova University Class of 1948 and received his DDS from Temple University Class of 1951. He practiced dentistry in Bristol for 55 years. Dr. Flood was named Catholic Dentist of the year in 1981 by the Greater Philadelphia Guild of Saint Appolonia. He served in many capacities for the Temple University Dental Alumni including President in 1970-1971. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. Father of the late John Patrick Flood, Dr. Flood is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marion Skiffington Flood, and his six children, Edward F. Flood Jr. and his wife Theresa; Marian Embry and her husband, Mark; Rose C. Flood; Kathleen Gallagher and her husband, Kevin; Gerald P. Flood and his wife, Nicole; Kevin C. Flood and his wife, Elaine. He will also be sadly missed by his 15 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; his brother, James Flood and his wife, Kitty, his sister, Rose Marie Kulp and her husband Frank and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, at 9:30 am at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills followed by Rite of Committal in Saint Martin of Tours Cemetery, New Hope. There will be no calling hours on Friday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Queen of the Universe Church, 2243 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056.
