Ewald H. Bahr, Jr.Ewald H. "Ed" Bahr, Jr. passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with cancer.Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife Rose, sister Frieda Laird and parents, Ewald H. Sr. and Johanna T. Bahr.Ed is lovingly remembered by his daughter Kris and son Ed, his long time companion Norma Williams, his wife's brother Frank Zoeller, sister Irene Thompson, nieces, nephews as well as many great nieces and great nephews.Ed was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 4, 1939. He moved with his family to Penndel, PA as a teenager. He and his wife moved to Hulmeville, PA in 1970 and he has been a fixture there since.Ed proudly served in the US Army. He was in a construction engineer unit and was discharged as a Specialist E-5 Sergeant.His love of cars transformed into a career as an auto mechanic. He could fix most anything and was the "go to" guy for many people. He was a head mechanic for E.S. Vile for 35 years and also worked at McDonald Douglas Truck Services for several years. He retired in 2000.Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman. He would rather have been out in the woods or on the lake than most anywhere else. Many a weekend was spent at he and his son's Tioga County hunting camp with friends and family.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 9:00 until 11:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA. Interment will follow in Rosedale Memorial Park, Bensalem.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed's name may be made to Chandler Hall Health Services, 99 Barclay Street, Newtown, PA 18940.
