

Born in Upland, PA and raised in Marcus Hook, PA, Mr. Carpenter joined the United States Air Force and traveled to many places throughout the world before settling in Levittown in 1968.
Fran worked as a mechanic for many years before retiring from Reedman Toll as a shop foreman in 2004. After retiring, he worked for Budget Rent-A-Car for several years.
Fran was a member of American Legion Memorial Post #960. He loved animals and in earlier years he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, fishing and crabbing.
Father of the late Daniel F., Mr. Carpenter is survived by his beloved wife, Carol A.
He was the loving father of Deborah A. Carpenter (Bartley) and David Carpenter (Connie); devoted grandfather of Christopher, Michelle, Jeffrey, James, Ryan and Shane and great grandfather of 2.
He is also survived by sisters, Harleen Reick (Art) and Geraldine Kofke (late Edward) and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where words of remembrance will be shared at 7:30 p.m. Interment is private.
