Born in Philadelphia, he was a recent transplant to Fairless Hills. He was a construction contractor for many years until his retirement. He loved fishing, joking around, and his "horse" Luna (really a dog, but this showed his joking side).
He loved to build with his hands, whether it was bicycles, wooden objects, or a puzzle. He was known in the family as the Puzzle Man.
His greatest love was being with his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He would always tell them, "don't do anything to hurt yourself, and you won't hurt Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop. Just do the right thing."
Francis is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Debbie; his children, Francis Marcelis, Jenifer Marcelis (Kevin Chan), and Monica Marcelis (Brandon Haines); his adoring grandchildren, Brandon, Shawn, Gabrielle, Justin, Matthew, Jayden, Jordan, Autumn, Alayah, and Sophia; and his great granddaughter, Ava.
He is also survived by his mother, Anna Marcelis; his sisters, Helen, Elizabeth, and Donna; his brother-in-law, William; his sister-in-law, Dot, and many nieces and nephews.
Francis is predeceased by his father, William Marcelis; his brother William Marcelis, and his sister, Anna Marcelis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA.
All other services for Francis will be private.
