

George John Galloway was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who went home to join his parents, his sisters, Donna and Jane, and his son Patrick on Sunday, March 20, 2022. He was 64.
George was Levittown born and bred, the 6th of 10 children born to Jim and Jane Galloway of Vermillion Hills. He was a 1975 graduate of Pennsbury High School and later earned his degree at Temple University.
During his career, George taught hundreds of local Catholic students at Conwell Egan Catholic High School, St. Ann in Bristol, St. Martin of Tours in Philadelphia, and his alma mater St. Joseph the Worker in Levittown.
He later served as Training Coordinator for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Counterterrorism Task Force.
A proud Irish Catholic, George was a founder of the Bucks County St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which recently celebrated its 33rd year, its first President, its Grand Marshal in 1998, and its Parade Director numerous times.
George loved his family, the Phillies, Navy football, camping, history, and any movie with John Wayne, including his favorite, The Quiet Man.
Like his sons, George had a passion for reading and writing. He authored two historical fiction novels, The Powder Monkey and The Code of Aquinas, and his essays and short stories have been published worldwide.
George will be remembered by his wife Cathy, surviving children Connor and Mary Kate, daughter-in-law Sheri, grandchildren Declan and Raegan, brothers Jerry, Jimmy, John, and Brian, surviving sisters Colleen, Patty, and Nancy Ann, goddaughter Bridget, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
All those who knew George are invited to celebrate his life at his funeral mass, 9:30 am on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills. His viewing will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 9:30 until 11:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, followed by a graveside service at 12:30 pm in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
