George James Hughes

George James HughesGeorge James Hughes died from complications of a blood disorder on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 27.Born in Philadelphia, George was a lifelong resident of Lower Bucks County. He was a 2006 graduate of Neshaminy High School.George was currently employed with Reedman Toll Auto World. He enjoyed playing hockey and strategy games, reading and creative writing. He especially enjoyed writing poetry. He was an avid Billy Joel fan and loved children and animals.George is the beloved son of Lisa M. (Lay) Hughes and James J. Hughes, Jr. (Valerie). He is the loving brother of Alyssa Williams (Derek), Ashley Hughes, Brian Grubb and Colin Hughes and the devoted uncle of Ava and Dante Williams.He will also be sadly missed by his grandparents, Jean and Boyd Lay and James J. Hughes; his girlfriend, Casey Zettlemoyer; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 9:30 until 11:30 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in George's name may be made to the American Red Cross, 2221 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
