

George Robert Roswell, of Levittown, died on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at his home. He was 80. Born in Scranton, Mr. Roswell has been a resident of Levittown for 50 years. He was employed with PGW for 35 years until retiring in March of 1989. Mr. Roswell was a member of Queen of the Universe parish where he served as a raffle coordinator and was a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph the Worker Council #4215 and the St. John Neumann Assembly. He held various offices with the SJW Home Association over the years. He he served as President of the SJW Seniors for 3 years Mr. Roswell was also a member of the International Order of Alhambra, Al-Fath #126 where he served as Grand Commander form 1998 to 2000. He also served as Treasurer of the Eastern PA Council of Caravans. He was a member of the American Legion and the Thursday Night Rosary Group. He enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary Medical Center as a Eucharistic Minister and Eucharistic Minister Coordinator. He also volunteered at the Bristol Riverside Theater; Aid for Friends; and bingo at Immaculate Conception and Queen of the Universe Churches and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Roswell was the beloved husband of Lee (Haas) Roswell for 42 years. He was the loving father of Donna Lynn Bradshaw and the devoted grandfather of Sean Bradshaw and Kaley Bradshaw. He is also survived by his brother Bernard Roswell of Absecon, NJ and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Marcella (Margis) Roswell; his wife Margaret (Thompson) Roswell, his daughter Terry Reiter and his brother Charles Roswell. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA 19056.
