

Gerald P. Powell, Sr. Gerald P. Powell, Sr. passed away with his wife, Maria Jane and loved ones at his home on Monday, July 12, 2010. He was 84. Mr. Powell was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Mary Katherine and Leonard Powell and was the father of the late Diane Pulone. He was 1 of 6 children; Jack, Leonard, Rita Conway, Jim and Bob. He attended West Catholic High School for Boys and graduated from Villanova University. He served in the United States Navy during World War II> Jerry was the owner/operator of Jerry Powell Tire Compay for 50 years and served as president of the Bucks County Inspection Unit #4. He was a member of Levittown-Fairless Hills Rotary club and served on various fund raising committees for that organization. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Saint Joseph the Worker Council 4215. His favorite times were with his family and at the Jersey shore where he would always keep the party going with his sense of humor and his quick wit to make sure that everyone had a good time. Jerry had a wonderful life and was fortunate in his life to have loved 2 women. Clare his wife and mother of their 8 children and Maria Jane, his wife and soul mate in later life for the last 13 years, and her 5 children. Jerry was the loving father of Clare Marie Wheeler, Jerry, Jr. and his wife, Mary, Victoria Hartman Shore and her husband, Blair, Mark and his wife, Mary Frances, Irene Jackson and her husband, Steve, Chris and his wife Michelle and Kathleen Hoffman and her husband, John. He will also be sadly missed by his 19 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and his extended family with Maria Jane and her 5 children, James and Colleen Wallace, Coleen and Louis Levine, Cathleen and Albert DiMaria, Sean and Sandi Wallace, Danny Wallace and 5 grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, 1:00 until 2:30 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown where his memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions in his name may be made to Saint Mary Medical Center, Regional Cancer Center, 1201 Langhorne-Newtown Road, Langhorne, PA 19047.
