Born and bred in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth Stacy (nee Garrity).
Gerald graduated from Northeast High School in 1944, and joined the Navy where he served his country proudly in both World War II and the Korean War. It was at that time when he and a lovely redhead named Dolores became pen pals. They wed on January 22, 1955. The newlyweds were original residents of Levittown's Cobalt Ridge and founding members of the Queen of the Universe parish. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Gerald was a tool and die maker by trade and retired from Melrath Gasket after 30 years — and immediately took on various other jobs, finally settling down in his eighties (!) The couple then became “snowbirds” who enjoyed spending time between Levittown, Los Angeles and Palm Springs, where they were members Our Lady Of Guadalupe church. Gerald's passions included spending time with family, reading, movies, Sunday breakfast, and his favorite was fixing things and passing on that knowledge to others. Needless to say, he was elated when his hometown team, the Philadelphia Eagles, won the Super Bowl in 2025.
Gerald was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dolores (nee Conley), his sister Mary Hobbs, his brother William Stacy, Jr., and his many in-laws. At 99, he was the last of the old guard.
Gerald is survived by his loving children: daughter Teresa Stallone (Steven) of Fallsington, PA, son Thomas Stacy of Palm Springs, CA, and “honorary” son, John O'Leary (Jacqueline) of Columbus, NJ. Gerald was absolutely devoted to his grandsons Ryan Stallone and Keith Stallone (Rachel). He also leaves behind ten nieces and nephews, and their spouses and their children. The family is also forever grateful for his wonderful caregivers Rosaidalia “Rosie” Gonzales and Adrienne Rigney. He will be greatly missed by all.
A viewing for Jerry will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Queen of the Universe, 2443 Trenton Rd, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, followed by his funeral mass at 11:00 AM. His burial with full military honors take at 1:00 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, Pennsylvania 18940, where he will be joined in eternal peace with his beloved Dolores.
