An avid Phillies fan, it somehow seems fitting that they won that night.
Born in Philadelphia on March 2, 1935, Jerry spent his career in the vending industry before retiring.
Jerry was a member of Bensalem Presbyterian Church. He served on church committees, volunteered at the church food pantry, attended interfaith meals, and rarely missed Sunday breakfast with friends. He was just as likely to be found picking up sticks around the property, cleaning the church, or making one last walk through the building to turn off the lights and lock the doors before heading home.
Scouting was another lifelong passion. He gave back through many years of volunteer service with the Bucks County Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Jerry was predeceased by his wife, Jo-Ann P. Wilkins.
He is survived by his daughter, Sue-Ann DiVito; his son, James "Jim" Wilkins; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family is deeply grateful to the caregivers who treated Jerry with dignity, compassion, and respect. Their kindness brought comfort to Jerry and to his family throughout the final leg of his journey.
Private services will be held. If you'd like to honor Jerry’s memory, please consider making a donation to, or volunteering at, your local food pantry.
Jerry rarely said "goodbye." Instead, he'd simply say, "Peace." Sometimes he'd add, "Peace brother."
So today, in his words...
Peace
