Gwen Jean McGrogan passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at the age of 84. She was born July 14, 1942 in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of the late Helen (Zukowski) and George Albert. She was the beloved wife of the late Mickey McGrogan and enjoyed 46 years of marriage, until his death in 2010. She was a 1960 graduate of Little Flower High School. She was a long time resident of Penndel, PA since 1977.

Gwen was a stay at home mom to her four children and was always willing to open her home to anyone in need. She could fix anything and was known to rebuild a transmission. The McGrogan home was the neighborhood gathering location and Christmas Eve was always an event for family and friends. She could always be found with a book in her hand and a cup of tea by her side. She and Mickey enjoyed many trips to Atlantic City casinos. She also adopted numerous dogs over the years.

She is the loving mother of Colleen Martin (Kevin) of Langhorne, Mary Fillmore of Bristol, Mickey McGrogan (Bridget) of Langhorne and Thomas McGrogan of Philadelphia; the devoted grandmother of Raymond (Tiffani), Billy, Sarah, Ashley, Sean (Brianna), Jewel, Kyle, Morgan, Connor, Evan and Brandon; the great-grandmother of 5 and the sister of Basil Albert (deceased), Judy Swallow, Helen Alfonso, Elileen Woods and Dolores Homan;and sister-in-law to Vincent and Marge McGrogan and Maureen Conway (deceased). Gwen will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Calling hours continue the following day Friday, August 28th, at 10:00am with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, PA.

The family has requested memorial contributions to the Women’s Animal Center, 3839 Richlieu Road Bensalem, PA.

As she would always say, so long!
