Harvey E. LyonsHarvey E. Lyons of Levittown died on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Chandler Hall. He was 81.Mr. Lyons was born in Trenton, NJ and attended Trenton High School.He has resided in Levittown for the past 56 years and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel parish.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the Army Corps of Engineers and was stationed in Okinawa.Harvey worked as a Dredge Captain and Maintenance Superintendent with Warner Sand and Gravel Company for over 40 years until retiring in 1992. He was proud to have been part of the crew who dredged what we now know as Van Sciver Lake at the Penn Warner Club where he was a life member.Harv was a true family man who enjoyed spending time with friends and family at home, the lake and his summer home in Cape May.Mr. Lyons was the beloved husband of Mary Anne (Brazina) Lyons for 55 years.He was the loving father of John H. Lyons (Marie Lanette), Daniel T. Lyons and Suzanne M. Lewis (Gregory A.).He was the devoted grandfather of Candice Lanette, Rachael Lyons, Daniel Lyons Jr. (Paula DeVane), Amanda Lewis (Joseph Brady) and Melissa Lewis and was the great grandfather of Alden and Trent Brady and Daniel III and Haylee Lyons.Harv is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his grandson Michael J. Lewis, sisters Florence and Violet and a brother Joseph Jr.Family and friends are invited to call Sunday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown followed by Rite of Committal at St. Mary Byzantine Cemetery, Trenton, NJ.In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Chandler Hall, 99 Barclay St., Newtown PA 18940.
