

Helene Monte Someone so gentle and kind should live forever Helene Monte of Langhorne passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 after years of dealing with difficult health issues. She was 69 years of age. Born in Bristol, Helene was a long time resident of Langhorne Pa. Helene was a graduate of Delhaas High School and continued her education, graduating from Lock Haven University with a degree in Health and Physical Education. She greatly enjoyed working with youth. Her first teaching position was at Wildwood High School, Wildwood New Jersey. Helene lead the Health and Physical Education Department. She was instrumental in implementing various sports programs, such as basketball, softball, hockey and the yearly Wildwood High Spirit Nights. Those years never left her and she referred to them lovingly throughout her life. Helene later worked as a residential manager at Woods Services in Langhorne, Pa. for many years. Until her injury she contributed to the well being of the residents and her staff. She was an animal lover and those who knew Helene will remember her kindness and devotion to "her boys". Keeping Helene always in loving thoughts is her life partner Doreen Haeselin. Together they created memories and a love that will last a lifetime. She is survived by her brother James "Kookie" Monte (Sally); her sister Rosemary Geyer; a niece Lori Monte; and two nephews Lee Monte and Michael Geyer. She also leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles and cousins who will remember her fondly. She will be deeply missed by her loves, "her boys" Elliott and Kato and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Agnes Monte and two nieces. Helene's family extends their gratitude to Dr.Michael Smith and staff for their compassionate care. Helene donated to many Animal Rescue Organizations. In her memory please pay acts of kindness forward to one another as well as giving to all animals in need of love and support. Family and friends are invited to call from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where her memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m.
