Heretta E. Trott

June 26, 1927 – July 3, 2026
Obituary of Heretta E. Trott
IN THE CARE OF

James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc.

Proverbs 31:30 states, "But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised." This was the life commitment of Heretta Elsie Trott, who was called home by her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on July 3, 2026, just days after her 99th birthday.

Heretta was the eighth of nine children born in Philadelphia to Johann and Augusta Klemm, who emigrated from Lithuania. She attended public school, then went to work for the Thermometer Company during WWII. She met her husband Jim while he was in the Navy, and they shared 73 years of marriage before his passing in 2023.

Heretta never had the opportunity to go to college, but she was a highly intelligent, self-taught business partner with her husband. She was the backbone of their real estate and home construction business, handling finances and customer service. Upon retirement in 1983, they relocated to Ormond Beach, Florida. There, Heretta served with her husband in numerous ministries at First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach for almost 40 years, playing the piano in their Sunday School class, Vacation Bible School, missions, and home visitation.

"Quiet strength" epitomized Heretta. With love, loyalty, and gentleness, Heretta spoke the truth with wisdom, even when others would not. Her words were few but meaningful, because she lived her life dedicated to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Heretta's gift of complete humble service was strength behind the scenes... so that others could shine. Now she will shine in the light of her Saviour in Heaven.

Heretta was predeceased by her parents, siblings, one niece and her husband. She is survived by her only child and deep admirer, Sandra Anderson (Trott), and former son-in-law, Eric Anderson.

The joys of her life were her beloved grandchildren, Ryan Anderson and his wife Chelsea (Cavalier), and Stefanie D'Amico (Anderson) and her husband Ray. Six additional energetic blessings arrived as great-grandchildren in this order: Allayna D'Amico, Audrina D'Amico, Kendal Anderson, Kamryn Anderson, Kinsley Anderson, and Dominic D'Amico.

Heretta's life celebration will be held on July 15, 2026 from 11:30 to 12:00pm with her funeral service to follow at James J Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA.

Heretta never wanted flowers, as she believed that donations would have a much greater impact if given to Pacific Garden Mission, P.O. Box 7436, Chicago, IL. 60680-7436
