Early on James was in the Navy with the Seabees. He was employed with the Pennsbury School District Maintenance Department for almost 30 years.
Jim absolutely loved the outdoors. Whether it was camping, fishing, kayaking or hunting he was always ready to go. Every year he looked forward to hunting season with his son and best friends who fondly called him "Jimmy", Robert Weik (Joanie), Chuck Keller (Pat) and Paul Garrett (Heather).
Jim also loved NASCAR, going to the movies and his "dream" truck that he always wanted. He was a great neighbor and friend and would do anything he could to help if needed.
James is preceded in death by his father, Frederick D. Cliver, Sr. and his mother, Marion L. Cliver (Harrar) and his beloved pets Bubba and Daisy.
James is survived by his son, Ryan Cliver (and his fiancée Samantha) and his daughter, Samantha Cliver. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Elizabeth "Ellie" Rose who he lovingly called "Boo". His children and granddaughter were his whole entire world and he loved spending as much time with them as possible.
James is also survived by his loving family, his sister, Cindy Morrison (Glenn); and his brothers, Frederick D. Cliver, Jr. (Peggy), Joseph Cliver and Mark Cliver (Sue). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
He will also be sorely missed by Rhonda Cliver (Patrick) and Elizabeth Powell (and the late Ronald).
Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056. Military Honors will be rendered at 12:00 PM.
