James "Jim" "Cookie" Michael Cook

James "Cookie" Cook, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2026, in the quiet of the night, surrounded by the love of his family. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The world is forever changed because he was in it, and his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.

James was born in Philadelphia to John J. Cook Sr. and Marie A. Cook. He graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1971 and continued his education at the American Institute of Drafting. Throughout his career, James worked for Master Etching Company, Budd Company, and D.E.I. Services, where he was respected for his dedication, strong work ethic, and craftsmanship.

Jim met the love of his life, Angelina, at a family Christmas party in 1976 after her uncle introduced them. The two men worked together and shared a love of golf, and he thought they would make a perfect match. That evening, Angelina jokingly asked Jim if he wanted to marry her. With a smile, he replied, "No," but he did ask for her phone number. Three years later, on August 11, 1979, they were married at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Levittown, beginning a loving marriage that lasted nearly 47 years and was blessed with family, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Together they raised two children, John and Sandra, and eventually he became "Cookie Pop" to six (and a bonus) grandchildren. No matter the time of day or night, if someone needed help, he would be there with his familiar response: "OK, fine." He expressed his love not through grand speeches but through the countless things he did for the people he cared about. He enjoyed teaching others how to build, repair, and solve problems, earning the affectionate comparison to a real-life "MacGyver".

Jim was a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan who proudly cheered for the Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies. He loved playing softball and street hockey with his friends and was a proud member of the Browns Custom Paints softball team, helping them win a league championship. After games, teammates and their families would gather at Puss and Boots, where everyone—including all the children—shared meals, laughter, and friendship. As the years passed and he retired from softball, Jim found a new passion for golf and became a member of Red Rock Golf Club.

In his later years, Jim faced numerous serious health challenges with remarkable strength and determination. Time after time, he amazed family and friends by recovering from setbacks, leading many to joke that he had "more lives than a cat."

Above all else, Jim cherished time spent with family and friends. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need touched countless lives. The world was truly a better place because he was in it. Jim was one of a kind, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply and forever missed.

Jim is now reunited with his parents, and his brothers, Joseph A. Cook and Kevin P. Cook (Terri).

He is survived by his wife, Angelina M Cook; his son, John L. Cook (Kathleen); his daughter, Sandra M. Kitchen (Samuel); his grandchildren: Dylan Campbell, Delaney Cook, John Cook, Christian Kitchen, Daniel Kitchen, Samantha Kitchen; his great grandchildren, Carson Kitchen, Miles Kitchen and Daniel Campbell; his bonus granddaughter, Yasmin White; his brother John J. Cook (Kathleen); his sisters: Marie A. Gervasio (Joseph), Ann M. Rorick (Joseph), and Karen R. Meagher (Michael); and many nieces and nephews who lovingly called him Uncle Tippy Toes.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Humanist Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Jim during his final days. Their nurses and aides treated him with remarkable kindness, dignity, and respect, and their support brought great comfort to both Jim and his family. Their generosity and compassion will never be forgotten.

A viewing will be held at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, on August 7, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Jim’s funeral service will take place at the funeral home on August 8, 2026, at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest after the service at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, Pennsylvania 19020, on August 8, 2026, at 11:00 am.

Angelina shared that Jim gave her a lifetime of love, laughter, and treasured memories for which she will always be grateful. While his absence leaves an immeasurable void in her heart, she finds comfort in the love they shared and in the memories that will remain with her always. She looks forward to the day they are reunited in God's loving grace. Jim will forever be the love of her life and will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved.
