James Russell Gilton, affectionately known as “Jimmy,” a longtime resident of Falls Township, passed away at his home on August 24, 2026.
Jimmy was the beloved son of Robert and Melba Gilton. He graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1998 and went on to work for MetaSource, where he was involved in data entry and scanning.
Those who knew Jimmy knew that life with him was rarely dull. He was gentle, honest, humorous, kind-hearted, and fiercely loyal—the kind of person who could make people laugh while also being someone they knew they could count on. His sense of humor was an important part of who he was, and he had a way of bringing laughter and lightheartedness to the people around him. Jimmy leaves behind plenty of memories that will undoubtedly continue to bring smiles, laughs, and more than a few good stories for years to come.
Jimmy is survived by his brother, Robert Gilton (Jennifer), his sister, Kimberly Schulze (Walter); his nieces and nephew, Kylie Gilton, Paige Gilton, Wesley Gilton, Kathryn Schulze, and Jessica Schulze; and his aunt, Sylvia Horton.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, on September 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
In Jimmy's memory, those wishing to make a memorial contribution are encouraged to donate to a charity of their choice.
Jimmy will be remembered not simply for the years he lived, but for the laughter, loyalty, kindness, and memories he leaves behind. His absence will be deeply felt, but the stories, laughter, and memories he created will remain with his family and friends for years to come.
