James E. Mitchell

Born in Allentown, PA, and a graduate of Allentown High School, Mr. Mitchell has been a long time resident of Lower Bucks County. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Fairless Hills.

Until retiring in 1987, Mitch was a Mill Wright with US Steel Fairless Works for 23 years. He was a US Air Force Korean war veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 834, where he also served as a Chaplain and worked at their Bingo every Monday night. Mitch was a long time member of the Falls Township Seniors Center, where he met his wife, Denise.

Mitch was a tour bus driver for 15 years. He enjoyed caring for his vegetable and rose gardens and spending the day on the golf course.

He was one of the last old fashioned gentleman.

Beloved husband of Denise (Miehle) Wolfe Mitchell, Mr. Mitchell is the loving father of Karen Wright (Melvin) and Wayne Mitchell and step father of Nancy Wilt, Matthew Rosnick and David Wolfe (Kim).

He will also be sadly missed by 5 grandchildren and extended family members.

He was predeceased by his parents, Evelyn (Sechler) and Roscoe Mitchell; his sister, Nora Manfree; and his first wife, Dorothy (Zola).

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 9:30 until 11:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his memorial service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown at precisely 1:00 pm.
