James E. Simmons

James E. Simmons, Sr. of Levittown died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 74.Born and raised in Trenton, Mr. Simmons has been a resident of the Levittown area for 50 years.He was employed with the Roller Bearing Company of America for 43 years until retiring in 2011.Mr. Simmons enjoyed playing the guitar, hunting and fishing.James is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Virginia A. "Ginny" (Haworth) Simmons; sons, James E. Simmons Jr. (Crystal) and David W. Simmons (Janice); grandchildren, James E. III, Kristen, David W. Jr., John, Ronald, Dwayne, Alyssa and Christopher and great granddaughter, Sage.He will also be missed by his siblings Dorothy Geraci, Wayne Simmons, Lorraine Grodnicki and Sandra Giangrante and several nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to call from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Interment is private.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 100 N. 20th Street, Suite 405, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
