Janet Ann Ghrist

Jan was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Trenton, NJ. She graduated Trenton High School in 1967 and then went on to Mercer County Technical School. Jan worked for Wells Fargo for many years before having her first child, Debbie and then stayed at home to care for her and soon after had their second child, Jim.

After staying home with the kids, she went on to work for her uncle and then as a bookkeeper for Groendyke & Co. in Trenton, NJ. After that she worked with her husband for his CPA firm. Jan and her husband enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Europe throughout the years. She looked forward to her monthly "girls night" and the girls will miss her presence. She was an avid knitter, making blankets for her family and donating them to the less fortunate. Above all, Jan cherished all of the times spent with her family, especially her grandson, Ryan.

She is predeceased by her parents, Emil and Rose Ruck, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lawrence and Helen Ghrist, her brother-in-laws, Eric Carlson and Larry Ghrist. Jan is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ronald Ghrist; her devoted children and their spouses, Debbie (Bill) Bevan and Jim (Jackie Bonk) Ghrist; her adoring grandson, Ryan Bevan; and many siblings and extended family and friends.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056.

Graveside prayers will be held following at 12:15 p.m. at Newtown Cemetery, 655 Penn Street, Newtown, PA 18940.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jan's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
