years old.
Jean spent her early childhood in Philadelphia, where she lived for her first ten years. She often spoke fondly of those days—family gathered on porches, cousins playing together, and the
closeness of a neighborhood she loved deeply. Her family later moved to Atco, New Jersey, where she learned to appreciate country life. She picked blueberries with her mother and
grandmother, baked fresh blueberry pies and pancakes, and enjoyed horseback riding and swimming. Jean loved the ocean and beaches.
Jean graduated from Camden County High School and began her career as a secretary at an electric company in Philly, a job she loved. While roller-skating, she met her first husband Joseph Frampus, and they married in 1954. Together they raised seven children during their ten years of marriage before Joseph’s passing in 1964. Their children are: Arlene Beard (Mike), Mark Frampus (Augusta), Maryjean Penaranda (Rudolph), and Margaret LaGratta (Alfred) and the late Jeanne Frampus, Kathleen Damask, Joseph Frampus (Barbara).
In 1975, Jean met Harry DePoy while out dancing, something they both loved. They married in 1976 and shared forty years together until Harry’s passing in 2016. Through Harry, Jean embraced three adult stepchildren: Katherine Oakes (George), Joy Fesi, and Chuck DePoy (Jill).
Jean worked part-time as a secretary for the Deptford, NJ Police Department before marrying Harry. After moving to Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania in 1977, she became a devoted member of
Saint Francis Cabrini Church, where she remained active for 49 years. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She converted to Catholicism at age 19, attended daily Mass, prayed the rosary every day, visited nursing homes to pray with residents, and played the organ at her parish for many years. She was also a member of the Women’s Confederate Club where they performed skits and sang for nursing home.
Jean’s greatest joy was her family. She was the proud mother of seven children, grandmother to 21 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 26 great-grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Arlene Blase and Diane Jones.
Jean will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love of family, her warmth, and the way she made every person feel valued. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured with devotion, strength, and endless love.
