Jean Hardy

Jean Marie Hardy (née White), 71, went to be with our Heavenly Father on August 18, 2026, at Heritage Hill Senior Community in Weatherly, Pennsylvania. Jean faced a lengthy battle with aphasia and vascular dementia. Jean battled her diseases with remarkable strength, grace, and the same resilience she showed throughout her life in caring for others.

Jean was born on August 25, 1954 to William White and Josephine (Pepkowski). Raised in the Red Cedar Hill section of Levittown, Jean had five sisters, Carol Mazzocchi (Tony), Barbara Remphrey (Reuben), Brenda Curl (Ray), Eleanor (Melnick), and her twin, Joan Ward (George). Jean attended Delhaas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, where she participated in the color guard. Following graduation, Jean continued her education at Bucks County Community College, where she earned her nursing degree. In 2014, Jean graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s of science in nursing and was recognized for outstanding academic achievement.

Nursing was more than a profession for Jean; it was a calling. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives with her kindness, patience, and unwavering compassion. Jean brought warmth and dignity to everyone she served. She worked as a nurse at Lower Bucks Hospital, the Bucks County Health Department, and Silver Lake Nursing Home in Bristol. Later, she specialized as an IV therapist at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and as clinical team lead at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, where she retired in 2020. Her colleagues admired her skill and dedication, while her patients remembered her gentle heart and genuine concern for their well-being.

Jean was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, grandmother, and mother who devoted herself wholeheartedly to her children, celebrating their successes, supporting them through challenges, and making sure they always knew they were deeply loved. Her caring spirit extended far beyond her profession, shaping the way she nurtured family, friends, pets, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William Hardy, and is survived by her three children: Kimberly Weise of Albrightsville, PA, Karen Rice (Steve) of Sellersville, PA and H. Alex Schmid of King of Prussia, PA; her grandson, Andrew Weise, and a wide circle of friends and former colleagues.

Those who were close to Jean will always remember and cherish her wonderful cooking and baking, her faithfulness to her church, her love of Christmas and her wish of always being at the beach.

We ask all family and friends of Jean to join us at her viewing being held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 9:00 until 10:45 -11 AM at New Life Christian Church in Newtown, PA. A funeral service for Jean will follow the viewing. At the conclusion of the service, a procession will be led to Washington Crossing National Cemetery where Jean will be laid to rest.
