Jean E. Yocum

Jean E. Yocum Jean E. Yocum, age 89, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on the evening of June 17, 2011 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gary Hanson with whom she lived with for the past year and a half in Falls Township. Jean was born in Dry Valley Lewistown, PA. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Virgie Ritter. In 1952, Jean and her late husband moved to Fairless Hills with their 3 children, where she was a homemaker. Jean was a charter member of the Levittown Fairless Hills Brethren Church (Highland Park Community Church) where she was Sunday School Teacher and Assistant Treasurer. She enjoyed holding those positions very much. Jean loved spending time at her hunting cabin with family in Huntingdon, PA as well as crocheting and making crafts. She loved life and her family. She was loved very much and will be deeply missed by many. She was preceded in death by her husband William F. Yocum, her son Darwin L. Yocum, her sisters, Matalin Moist and Doris Davis and her brother, Robert C. Ritter. She is survived by daughters, Judith A. Hoffman and husband, George of Fairless Hills; Kathy J. Hanson and husband, Gary L. of Fallsington; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and her sister, Betty Reeder of Lewistown. she will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, 11:00 until 12:00 noon at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Rosedale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Alzheimers Association, Inc. - National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
