

Jeanne D. Rice of Levittown, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Statesman Nursing Home. She was 82. Born and raised in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, Mrs. Rice has been a resident of Levittown since 1954. She attended Temple University and was a trained concert pianist and organist. Mrs. Rice was a long time active member of Emilie United Methodist Church where she played the organ and was a teacher at the Christian Day School and Sunday School. She also had been active in girl scouts. Beloved wife of 61 years to James William Rice, Mrs. Rice was the loving mother of Barbara (Frank) Piscitello of Reading, James W., III (Karen) of Warminster, Richard E. (Debbie) of Fort Wayne, IN and the late Sandra Leigh. She was the devoted grandmother of Frank, Jeff, Jason, Bryan, Shannon and Brianna and the sister of Earlene Gillian-Smith of Lewes, DE. She will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Emilie United Methodist Church, 7300 New Falls Rd., Levittown where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Emilie United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Emilie United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
