Jerome N. Barton Jerome "Jerry" N. Barton died surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at his home in Langhorne, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 76. Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Catherine (Fitzpatrick) and Charles Glenn Barton, Sr., Jerry has been a long time resident of Langhorne. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Parish. He retired in 2002 from the United States Postal Service after 39 years of service. Jerry was a life time member and First Deputy Chief of the Langhorne Middletown Fire Company and a member of the Parkland Fire Company and Past Vice President. He was a Green Beret, serving with the Special Forces and 101st US Army Airborne. Beloved husband of 56 years to Helen (Lafferty), Jerry was the loving father of Jerry (Jane) Barton and Eileen Bartleson (Bruce) of Langhorne. He was the devoted grandfather of Michael and David Barton, Nikki Millman (Steve) and Daniel and Brittany Bartleson. Jerry will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Joan O'Toole and Theresa Ringenary and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, from 6:00 until 9:00 pm and on Monday, from 8:30 until 9:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 on Monday, at Our Lady of Grace Church, Langhorne followed by the Rite of Committal in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
