Joanne C. Lucas

Joanne was born on August 10, 1934, in West Mifflin, PA, and predeceased by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Steiner. In 1953, at the age of 19, Joanne married her beloved husband, Robert Lucas, and they enjoyed nearly 69 years together. She is survived by her husband, and three children, Robert II (Michelle), Craig (Denise) and Denise (Tom).

Joanne spent the last 34 years enjoying her 11 grandchildren, Craig, Elicia, Christopher, Jonathan, Andrew, Robert III, Rebekah, Taylor, Matthew, Alec and Megan. And more recently, she was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren, Eliana, Kai, Ryan, Ryder, Micah and Adelina. Joanne is also survived by her older sister, Marlene Ruhl and her younger brother, Robert Steiner.

Joanne and Robert moved from Pittsburgh in 1961 to Levittown, PA, where they lived until retiring to Sarasota, FL in 2005. Joanne was a long time parishioner of Saint Joseph the Worker in Fallsington and more recently, Assumption, BVM in Feasterville.

She cared for her family and home, and she loved to cook and bake traditional ethnic foods to celebrate the holidays and special occasions. In the summers, you could find her sitting on her front porch enjoying the neighborhood happenings. She like to crochet and take care of her flower gardens. By far, her favorite activity was singing! She participated in two separate musical groups in Levittown and Sarasota, where she took considerable pride in creating and participating in several musical productions each year. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling around the country with her husband, Robert, visiting family and friends. She was loved by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday July 9, 2022 from 9:30 until 10:30 am at Assumption, BVM Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Road, Feasterville, where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will be held privately.
