John G. Abbott, Jr.

John G. Abbott Jr. John G. Abbott of Kissimmee, Florida died on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Osceola Regional Medical Center. He was 86. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Abbott was a resident of Levittown for 44 years before moving to Kissimmee 22 years ago. He was a former member of St. Michael the Archangel parish. Mr. Abbott retired as an executive with Whitman's Chocolate where he worked for over 42 years. He was active with the establishment of the Levittown Parks and Recreation Association. He sat on the State Executive Board and was past President of the Philadelphia Chapter of APIC Association. He also served as President of the Straford Park Home Owners Association of Kissimmee for over 10 years. Mr. Abbott was the beloved husband of the late Jennie M. Abbott for for over 57 years. He was the loving father of Jeanne M. Abbott of Orlando, FL and the late John G. Abbott III. He will be sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Lorraine Abbott; his sister Dorothy Manley; his sister-in-law Catherine Reilly and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John G. Sr. and Mary Abbott. Family and friends are invited to call from 9 until 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 8 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, PA 19054 where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Church.
