

John Beretzki of Levittown died on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Crestview Nursing Home following a brief illness. He was 87. Born in Freeland, PA, Mr. Beretzki has been a resident of the North Park section of Levittown for the past 60 years. He was employed with U.S. Steel for 35 years until retiring in 1988. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Beretzki was very active at Bishop Egan and Conwell Egan Catholic High School for over 45 years continuing up until his illness. He was a former President of the Father's Club and was a tireless volunteer helping out at all sporting events including Spirit Night and numerous other fundraising events. Mr. Beretzki was the beloved husband of the late Pauline Beretzki (Mehalick). He was the loving father of Mark Beretzki (Nancy) of South Brunswick, NJ, Paul Beretzki (Heather) of Levittown and John Beretzki (Lisa) of Mount Laurel, NJ. He was a devoted Pop Pop to Wesley, Vanessa, Madalyn and Anna and Great Pop Pop to Savana. He was the brother of Josephine Martin of Levittown and Walter Beretzki of Washington Crossing and will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Friends may also call on Friday from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home where a Panachida service will be held at 9:30 a.m. His funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church followed by Rite of Committal at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
