John L. Duratz

John L. "Bud" "Blackie" Duratz, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol. Born on March 16, 1929 in Grindstone, PA, he was 82. Mr. Duratz resided in Levittown and Langhorne before moving to Bristol. He was employed with U.S. Steel for 33 years until retiring in 1986. Mr. Duratz enjoyed golf, bowling, crossword puzzles, playing 500 Rummy and pinochle. He was also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but mostly he loved to spend time with his family. Mr. Duratz is survived by his B.W. (Beautiful Wife) of 60 years, Gertrude I. Girgas Duratz. He was the loving father of Robert J. Duratz of Morrisville, PA Cynthia A. and Joseph R. Armenti of Robbinsville, NJ, Nadine L. Briggs and Mark Kritschgaw of Rockwood, PA and Margaret A. and Thomas Miles of Fairless Hills, PA. He was the devoted grandfather of April and David Devine of Croydon, PA, Kenneth Rice, Colleen and Lenny Griffiths of Palm Coast, FL, James and April Duratz of Morrisville, PA, Jenielle Rearick and Dan Phelps of Levittown, PA, Melissa Reilly and Darcy Drobnich of W. Bristol, PA, Danielle and Ray Morrisey of Croydon, PA, Francis Robidoux of Levittown, PA, Carol Willox of Confluence, PA, Ashley and Jonathan Barerra of Morrisville, PA, Veronica Brown of Fairless Hills, PA, Roselea Miles of Fairless Hills, PA and Meranda Miles of Bristol, PA. He will also be sadly missed by his brother, James J. Duratz of Meadville, PA; his sister, Loretta K. Huffman of New Salem, PA; 17 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his first great great grandson on the way. Family and friends are invited to call today, Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Interment is private.
