John J. Flynn

John J. "Joe" Flynn, Sr., died on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Saint Mary Medical Center, Langhorne with his loving family by his side. He was 79. Born in Clifton Heights, the son of the late Mary (Walshe) and Robert Flynn, he was formerly of Levittown and was a long time resident of Fairless Hills. He was the father of the late John J. Flynn, Jr. He was an office terminal manager for Meenan, Farm and Home and Armstrong Oil Companies. Mr. Flynn was a member of Saint Frances Cabrini Parish and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus, Saint Joseph the Worker Council #4215. He was an avid Flyers, Phillies, Eagles and Notre Dame Fighting Irish football fan. Beloved husband of 51 years to Lois M. (Ytse), Mr. Flynn is the devoted father of Kathy McIntyre and her husband, Brian and Tom, Sr. and his wife, Mary Ann of Fairless Hills. He is the loving grandfather of Brendan, Sean and Craig McIntryre; Thomas, Jr. and Julia Flynn; and John J. III, Emily and Sarah Flynn. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews and extended family members. Mr. Flynn was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert F., Bernard, Loretta Flynn and Kathleen Stevens. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, from 6:00 until 9:00 pm and on Monday, from 8:00 until 9:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, 9:30 am at Saint Frances Cabrini Church with Rite of Committal following in Resurrection Cemetery.
