John Edward French, Sr. John Edward French, Sr. of Levittown, sadly passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013, due to medical complications. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy and two children, Debbie and David. A resident of Levittown for most of his life, John was the president of the union for National Can Corporation from where he eventually retired. Enjoying his retirement, John made sure he visited the diner daily to see his waitresses and enjoy breakfast. He was a skillful pool player and a member of many leagues for over 50 years. John loved spending time with his family, his sons, Tommy, Ricky and John E. French, Jr., and his daughter, Renee (Brian Pettit). He was the grandfather of 12 and the great-grandfather of five. Friends and family are encouraged to join from 9:00 until 10:30 am, Saturday, November 16 at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Bristol Cemetery.
