Born and raised in Philadelphia to John and Yvonne Halasa, he was a resident of Levittown for over 40 years. He was a 1967 graduate of Frankford High School, Philadelphia. He met his high school sweetheart, Bernadette, just before his Senior Prom.
After graduation, Jack took employment with the IRS on Roosevelt Bvld. Never one to shy away from action, Jack decided to enlist in the US Navy because the Marine Corps Recruiting Office was closed for lunch. During his service Jack and Bernadette were married. After his Honorable discharge, Jack resumed his employment with the IRS as a Special Agent. He attended night courses at Philadelphia Community College and earned a bachelor's degree. Jack served with the IRS for 42 years before retiring in 2013.
In his limited spare time, Jack coached little league, and enjoyed cooking, camping, and traveling all over the world.
But his greatest joy in life, some would even say they saw him smile, was spending time with his family, particularly with his grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Predeceased by his parents; Jack is survived by his loving wife, Bernadette; his daughter, Cassandra Heidler (Paul); his son, Stephen Halasa (Stephanie); his son, Christopher Halasa Sr; his grandchildren, Christopher Jr. (Maiya), Ben, Alex, and Scarlett; his great granddaughter, Lacie; and his brother, Bob Halasa (Stella).
