John was born on May 26th 1956 and was a beloved husband to Barbara Klass as well being a Father to his adopted children Rebecca and Jonathan Klass.
John served honorably and faithfully in the US Navy from 1977-1981. John loved serving for his country during his deployment; he traveled to Italy, England, Spain and throughout Europe.
John worked at the Port Authority Of New York & New Jersey as a tunnel/bridge agent for over 32 years (6/25/84-8/29/16). He worked beside many loving friends who knew him as the “Pipe”. Many loved his smile and strong sense of humor.
John loved taking his kids to school and after a day at the Lincoln Tunnel would pick his kids up and take his family on many adventures, including Lancaster, New York, and Maryland. Every now and then they would take a trip to Disney. Common trips included going to Point Pleasant where he would play the card games in the Arcades!
Now John is with his best friend Doodles, a fluffy four-legged friend they brought into the family many years ago. He loved taking Doodles on morning strolls and night walks, talking to neighbors and especially after a walk Doodles would give him the “are we gonna sit outside and relax” look with a cigar in hand and his buddy laid next to him.
He especially loved bagpipes, and classic rock music. John was a very patriotic man. He loved America like no other.
John is like no other and no one could compare to such an amazing Husband/Father. Barbara and his two kids will now carry on his legacy and as his soul will live strongly in their hearts for years to come.
