John J. McNally

John J. McNally passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 79. Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Margaret (Beahm) and Joseph McNally, John was a long- time resident of Philadelphia.

John (J.J) worked as an Advertising Sales Executive at the Philadelphia Inquirer for 46 years. John was dedicated and hardworking, a natural salesman. He was a wonderful provider for his family.

John loved his community as was evident by the many years he volunteered at the Wissinoming Boys Club in NE Philadelphia. At one point he was President of the organization but what he enjoyed most was his years of coaching young athletes in baseball, basketball, softball and football. In addition to coaching, John was also an umpire, referee and the vice commissioner of the Semi-Pro Delaware Valley Football Conference.

Some of John's interests were fishing, collecting baseball hats and funny gadgets and relaxing with his loyal dog "Rocky". He was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. He was a proud Irishmen that enjoyed having a drink and great conversation. HIs absolute favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and friends. John was happiest when he was making people laugh and smile.

He was a selfless, generous man who made everyone he met feel like family. He had the "gift of gab" and made friends everywhere he went. His home was your home as you were greeted with a beverage and a genuine smile as soon as you walked in the door.

He met the love of his life, Sandra, when they were just teenagers. They married in 1966. Their love was admired by all that knew them. Sandra and John loved throwing parties, having barbeques and vacationing. Together they raised their 3 wonderful daughters in Philadelphia. They moved to Levittown in 2004.

John was a devoted family man who adored his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He was everyone's "Pop". To know Pop was to love and adore him. He made it his life's mission to make his family laugh and smile and they are eternally grateful. John's kind and loving spirit touched many lives and will be forever remembered.

Beloved husband of 56 years to Sandra (Garbarino), John McNally is the loving father of Sandra Bosak (Frank), Dawn Mott (Mike) and Kristen Giovanni (Chuck); devoted grandfather of Johnathon, Heather, Holly, Anthony, Brandon, Vinny, Ryan, Brenna, Kiera and Dominic; proud great grandfather of Kayla, Jaelyn, Briana, Jordyn, JoJo, Jayden, Max, Mason, Kylie, Alani, Jason and Axel; and great great grandfather of Sophia. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Joseph McNally; and grandson, Louie.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 9:00 until 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will be held privately.
