John was a larger-than-life figure who lived life at full throttle. He was initiated into Plumbers Local Union 690 on January 11, 1971 and was a proud member for 51 years until his death. John became a Master Plumber at the age of 22 and cared deeply about has craft and the Union movement. One of his favorite adventures was going to work on the Alaskan pipeline. When he returned home he started his Mechanical Contracting business and later opened a Social Club.
John was very generous and quite a character as most of you know! Weekends were for football, usually picking the wrong team.
Johns loving parents Tom and Florence both preceded him in death. He is survived by his older brother, Michael; sister, Susan; brother, Tom and wife, Marion; niece, Christina and nephew, Tommy, all who will miss him dearly.
John's family will receive relatives and friends from 10 until 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 18th at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown.
