John Smenda

Born in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania he moved to Levittown in 1957 where he graduated Neshaminy High School. John would later serve in the US Army for 2 years of active duty. He had several careers over his long life which John was always dedicated to and worked hard at.

John was a musician, talented woodworker and an avid gardener throughout his life. He was an all around good guy loved by many and will be deeply missed.

He is predeceased by his parents Stanley and Margaret (Nikodem) Smenda. John is also predeceased by his infant son Christopher.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anne (Flaherty); beloved daughter Christine (Ian) Stewart and adoring

grandchildren, Aidan, Bailey and Harper.

John will also be sadly missed by many loving sisters and brothers in law; and especially his best friends Estel and Peggy Hibbs.

Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 10:30 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown. The Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, with military honors. There will be no calling hours on Wednesday morning.
