John D. Thomas

John D. Thomas, of Levittown, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Vitas Hospice at Nazareth Hospital. He was 66. Born in Dunlo, PA, Mr. Thomas has been a Levittown resident for the past 44 years. He was a graduate of Adams-Summerhill High School in Sidman, PA. Mr. Thomas was employed with U.S. Steel's Fairless Works for 37 years until retiring in 2003. He was an Air Force veteran. Mr. Thomas was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bristol. He was a fan of Penn State, the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing He was the son of the late Donald and Sophia (Turk) Thomas. Mr. Thomas was the beloved husband of Norma L. Thomas and was the loving father of Matthew B. Thomas (Sara Grimmer) and Marissa J. Thomas. He was the brother of Ronald Thomas (Joanne Ladika) of Sidman, PA, Sue Thomas Hudson (Robert) of Sidman, PA, Betty Thomas Patterson (James) of St. Michael, PA, Robert Thomas (Claire Horwath) of Warminster, PA. Kenneth Thomas (Suzie Dierling) of Summerhill, PA, and Melinda Thomas Jerome (Terry) of St., Michael, PA . He will also be sadly missed by his granddaughter Abigail Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown.
