Joseph Dougherty, Jr. Joseph Dougherty, Jr. died on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, He was 71. Born and raised in the Flat Iron section of Philadelphia, Mr. Dougherty has been a resident of Middletown Township for the past 30 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 107 of Philadelphia for 25 years. Mr. Dougherty served in the the US Army and was a member of Memorial Post 960 American Legion. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. Mr. Dougherty will always be remembered as a caring and generous person, who's primary love in life was that of his family. Devoted husband of the late Wilma "Chris" and father of the late Nicholas, Mr. Dougherty is survived by his son, Joseph III (Kwajalein Hoffler) and daughter, Rachel Dougherty (Ryan Yarnall); his grandchildren, Ryan, Jr. and Kyleigh Yarnall; his brothers, Fran Dougherty (Doris) and Ray Dougherty (Betty Jane); his sister, Marie Grecco and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 7:00 until 9:00 pm and on Friday, from 9:00 until 10:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held on Friday, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Dougherty's name may be made to the Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
