

Joseph F. Groetsch, of Levittown, died on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 81. Born in Glenside, PA and raised in North Hills, PA, Mr. Groetsch has been a resident of Bristol Township for the past 57 years. He was a carpenter with Local #1492 in Bucks County, PA for over 50 years until retiring in 1992. Mr. Groetsch was a founding member of Immaculate Conception parish where he served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Mass and used his skills as a carpenter to help refurbish the sanctuary. He enlisted in the Army after Word War II and later reenlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserves serving in Korea. Mr. Groetsch was a member of the Spirit of Freedom and was proud to have served as a crewman on the "Candy Bomber" after World War II. He was an avid fisherman and all around outdoorsman. Mr. Groetsch was the beloved husband of Mary Ann "Dolly" Groetsch for nearly 59 years. He will also be sadly missed by his brother William Groetsch of Florida, several niece, nephews and extended family, his good friends Annie, Joe and Danny and many other close friends. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church followed by Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the William J.
