

Joseph LiVecchi of Langhorne, PA, was born in Newark, NJ. He was born to Nancy and Anthony LiVecchi. Joseph remained in the Ironbound section of Newark through his youth. He was best friends with Abel and Clem, and attended East Side High School. Joseph was drafted into the war, and served a year in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. Upon returning from the war, Joseph went to Upsala College where he met his wife, June. He began his career in the U.S. government while he lived in Kearny, NJ. He and his wife had their son, Anthony, at that time. Joseph and a few others were chosen to open a field office in Philadelphia, PA. Once he, his wife, and son moved to Langhorne, PA they had their daughter, Pamela. Joseph continued with the federal government for his whole career. He led and participated in many projects, including recovery after hurricane Katrina. Joseph built relationships throughout his career and continued to meet for lunch and ball games with his colleagues following his retirement.
Joseph is a lover of opera. He attended many operas throughout his life, often bringing his family with him and sharing his love of music. Joseph sung with a chorus, the Bucks County Singers. He was also an active member of his church, Calvary Chapel in Philadelphia, where he volunteered as a Sunday school teacher.
Joseph loved his family and friends and was loved back by everyone who knew him. Joseph is often described as “one of the best men I have ever known.” Joseph enjoyed sports, specifically the Phillies. He also studied history, science, philosophy, and politics. Joseph was a curious man who loved to learn, loved to eat, and loved to connect with others. Joseph was a sweet and content man, who made others feel important and safe when they were with him. He was a highly valued member of his family.
Joseph is survived by his mother, Nancy, and three siblings, Joann, Carol, and Phil. He is also survived by loving wife, June, of almost 50 years of marriage, as well as his two children, Anthony and Pamela. Joseph will be deeply missed, but will remain a part of anyone who ever knew him. Joseph was a strong believer in Jesus, who has now welcomed him home.
Family and friends are invited to call from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m on Tuesday, August 3rd at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Interment will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4th at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652. The family is requesting that face mask be worn.
